The ability to plot points and draw lines on graph paper is important in the fields of Linear Algebra, Coordinate Geometry, Computer Graphics, Statistics, and many branches of Science.
This resource provides an easy, interesting, and fun way to for students to develop and practice these skills.
The 18 questions include work in all 4 quadrants and, in some cases applies the concepts of symmetry.

PDF Coordinate Pictures
This resource provides an enjoyable way to reinforce students’ ability to plot points and
draw lines to create a variety of pictures.
To allow for varying background experiences the units are sequenced:
Unit 1: Plotting points where both the horizontal, or x, coordinate and the vertical, or y, coordinate are positive.
Unit 2: Plotting points where the horizontal, or x, coordinate can be positive or negative, while the vertical, or y, coordinate is positive.
Unit 3: Plotting points where both the horizontal, or x, coordinate and the vertical, or y, coordinate can be positive or negative.
Unit 4: Bonus questions, where students have to decide on the axes and scale for each picture.
